Santa Rosa Pedestrian Parity

The Santa Rosa City Council is supporting pedestrians in the City.

Unfortunately, one of the more popular signs produced by the City is the

NO PED CROSSING

USE CROSSWALK

sign.  That forces pedestrians to cross the street three times to accomplish crossing ONE street.

These signs are all along Guerneville Road between Cleveland Ave. and Fulton Rd.

pedestrians cross where there's no crosswalk

spend nearly 4 minutes to cross, or just "go for it?"

hard to say "go for it" isn't the right answer

Crossing Southbound - Cleveland Ave. and Guerneville Road

east side - nearly 4 minutes:

Crossing Northbound - Cleveland Ave. and Guerneville Road

east side - nearly 4 minutes:

Why is it that pedestrians are low priority?

All 12 vehicle movements are allowed within 1 minute, 40 seconds.

Yet, to cross the street at the east side of the intersection takes nearly 4 minutes!

Time for Pedestrian Parity!
